Community Jumble Trail
On Sunday 27th September 2020, 11am-5pm on our streets!
A neighbourhood Event.
Building on the success of the last two Jumble trails, we’re going to do it again! (Weather permitting) So start digging-out the things you don’t need or want anymore, and are ready to pass on.
This is also a great opportunity to move on school uniform that you don’t need anymore or your child has outgrown, and remember you can also use the Parsy Parents Facebook page to post offers of uniform.
A Jumble Trail is a celebration of community and recycling, oh and it’s FREE too! Imagine a car boot sale, only held in our neighbourhood, outside homes across lots of streets, where everything is free!
Anyone in the community is welcome to take part. It’s a brilliant way for people to re-home things they don’t need, rather than them gathering dust unused, unloved and unwanted. Re-use, re-purposing and upcycling are great for the environment, and it’s good for our pockets too. Simply set up a “stall” (it could just be a box) in your front garden, or on the pavement outside your home. You can put out whatever you like – so expect treasures from bric-a-brac, CDs, DVDs, and books to children’s toys and plants.
Taking part also gets people out from behind their closed doors, meeting, chatting (at a responsible distance) and getting to know their neighbours better, building a sense of connection between people where they live. When everyone feels a sense of benefit it creates a positive atmosphere and promotes friendly attitudes, so what’s not to like!?
If you plan to take part, please comment on the Facebook event page, it’s helpful if you can include your address or street name, and an idea of what you are putting out, so that folk can seek it out!
Safety tips: Only put out things that are still usable/safe; avoid creating trip hazards; keep at least 2 meters distance from anyone not in your household; and when picking-up items – please try to minimise handling; and don’t touch your face. As soon as you get home, quarantine your items taken, and wash your hands.
