Pre-loved Uniform
Please use the pre-loved uniform rail at the main entrance of the school whenever possible as there are often new or nearly new items there for families to take and use. Please wash and return any items in good condition for other families to make use of as your child grows.
School colours
The school takes great pride in pupils wearing the school colours to help our sense of belonging to the PG family. You may source uniform from any local retailer.
The uniform consists of:
- plain red, blue or white polo shirt
- navy or red sweatshirt
- black or grey skirt or trousers
- navy fleece
- black school shoes
Pre-loved uniform
Pre-loved uniform is organised by a sub-group of the Parent Council. This is open to all parents/carers to help themselves. The rails are outside the school office – please pop in any time to access them. Donations are also accepted for pre-loved, washed uniform that is in good condition.
There are a couple of uniform suppliers who will add the school badge, Image Scotland and the Fairtrade supplier Koolskools, these are entirely optional and not an expectation.
PE kit
The Scottish Government directive that all primary children should experience at least two hours of PE per week means that our school gym hall is a busy place! It also means that PE will take place both indoors and outdoors, in most weathers.
The school is keen to enhance the health benefits of physical activity for your child and therefore pupils will only be exempt from PE based on direct advice from the medical profession (through a letter to the Headteacher). Otherwise they will be expected to participate in the lesson within their capabilities.
We would be grateful of your support ensuring that your child has their PE kit in school every day, comprising a comfortable change of clothes for them to move around easily in, such as:
- plain shorts
- plain t-shirt (this may be in the House colour of red, blue, green or yellow) (no football strips or t-shirts with slogans or logos)
- plain joggers (for winter)
- indoor/outdoor gym shoes (non-marking soles and a change from their day footwear)
- a lightweight waterproof jacket
- all jewellery removed and stud earrings taped
