Sight Words/ High Frequency Words
Fry’s Sight Words are grouped in ten sets of 100 common words. Learning all 1,000 words in the Fry sight word list would equip a child to read about 90% of the words in a typical book, newspaper, or website.
Please see this website for more information and games to play to help your child learn these words by sight: Sight Words – Sight Words: Teach Your Child to Read
Here is a list of all the Fry’s Words grouped in the most frequent order. Start with the 1st 100 words (around P1-2), when your child is confident, move onto the 2nd 100 (around P2), by the end of P4 they should be confident with the first 300-400 words.
