A fantastic opportunity has arisen for parents/carers to join together for this highly evaluated course. Participants will have their place confirmed by email before the course starts on Monday 9th May.
The sun shone as pupils from P4, P5 and P5/6 enjoyed the experience offered by Willowbrae Bowling Club this week. P6/7 and P7 will have their chance to try out bowling in a couple of weeks time along with a second taster for P4.

P7 made a great start to camp on Monday settling in quickly to the camp routine. Once beds were made and kit sorted everyone filled up with a good dinner of fish and chips then headed out into the woods for the night walk. A fun muddy experience awaited and happily everyone found their way out!
Tuesday, the weather was a little windy for activities on the water so for the optional acitivity some groups chose caving. Others enjoyed gorge walking, biking, adventures in the forest and generally, lots of mud.
Today, one of the groups managed onto the water to kayak in calm conditions while others climbed and abseiled and again, all groups managed to find quite a dose of the gloopy stuff, so much so, that the bikes needed a good hosing down after their expedition out and about on the tracks and paths.
Weather is remaining good overall with dry calm conditions today, another day for fantastic adventures!

The Edinburgh Rock Ensemble raised the roof at Parsons Green on Friday morning. The talented bunch of musicians faced an appreciative audience who enjoyed the diverse mix of music on offer. Thanks to Mr Somerville who organised the outing, we can’t wait to hear more!
Well done to Sam who won gold medals in all of his swims at Forth Valley Disability Swimming Gala in Grangemouth on Saturday, great effort!
Congratulations to our competitors in the Edinburgh District Burns Competition at Tynecastle High School last Saturday. Jamie and Alexander in P4 and Amy and Aimili in P7 who worked so hard to learn and perform their chosen Burns poems.
Particularly well done to Aimili who managed to bag Third Place against some strong competition.

On Monday 29th February, Parsons Green received a certificate in recognition of our commitment to Fairtrade Uniforms. Four pupils attended the event to represent the Fairtrade Committee and were very excited to hear from Pamela who had travelled all the way from Mauritius to meet and speak with them. Pamela’s life has been changed for the better through working in a factory which produces uniforms for Kool Skools. She said being paid a fair price for her work has saved her life because she no longer has to work long hours in bad conditions and now has time to see her family.
Our pupils also enjoyed sampling lots of Fairtrade goodies! Thank you to Tyler, Zoe, Seren and Elsie.
P1 and Nursery pupils enjoyed a visit from the zoolab yesterday. They brought in lots of different animals to look at and learn about. The cockroaches were interesting and the snake was a bit hit!
