24th September 2025

Parsons Green Primary School is thrilled to launch the first ever Willowbrae Scarecrow Trail, running from 6 to 12 October 2025.

This fun-filled event invites families, friends, and neighbours to take part in a joyful celebration of imagination and community spirit.

Everyone is welcome to create their own scarecrow and add it to our trail map – just be sure to give your scarecrow a name so it can be included. Whether spooky, silly, or smiley, each scarecrow will help bring the neighbourhood to life.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded for:

  • the most creative scarecrow
  • the happiest scarecrow

Register your scarecrow

To take part, register your scarecrow by 30 September by messaging Katie on 07894961112 with:

  • your scarecrow’s name
  • your address

Follow the trail

Trail booklets will be available from the little library outside 34 Ulster Crescent or via ParentPay (for Parsons Green families).

A £3 donation is suggested, with a handy QR code on the library box for easy payment.

Let’s fill Willowbrae with colour, character, and community cheer – see you on the trail!

Protect our Future – Scotland-wide children’s campaign

24th November 2024

What is the ‘Protect Our Future’ project?

Protect Our Future is an art project amplifying children and young people’s voices to call politicians to action on the climate emergency, asking them to shift Scotland to renewable energy within (12 years, one Child’s school career). Protect Our Future was devised by a grassroots community group, Mothers Climate Action Network Edinburgh and children and teachers of Parsons Green Primary school and aims to bring together the contributions from 10,000 children across Scotland, linking them together to create a paper chain that will be taken to and presented at the Holyrood parliament building in Spring 2025.

10,000 is the number of signatures needed for a petition to be debated in parliament, this artwork mirrors that of political petitions, a citizens opportunity to call for action of a particular issue, with each Child’s art, representing their ‘signature’. ‘Protect Our Future’ is the demand from children in P5/6 at Parsons Green Primary School.

Who can participate?

We want any children in education, living in Scotland to participate, any child aged 3-18 is welcome to contribute.

What do we need to do?

We need one paper chain link from each child. All drawings, words and marks are welcome. Join us!
